![]() For most of the time we were there, there was no one else in the place! You would think he would have appreciated the business. We all ordered food, we all spent money, and the treatment we received was truly unacceptable. ![]() He flat out yelled at one of our party who was just trying to get her tea refilled. When I asked to just pay for my portion with my debit card, he was obnoxious, rude, and nasty. I'm sure he gets a nice fat cut from there. Then he points out the ATM machine at the front. We all have debit cards as we were not made aware of the new "rule". He decided he can no longer split the bill (which we find out After we arrive) ![]() The owner was nasty to several of our group. Today however was a whole different story. We all ordered food, and stay for group fun and games. Always the food was OK (not bad, not great) but we appreciated them accommodating our large group each month. Our group has been going to Johnny's for a while now once a month. Louis make sure to go to this restaurant as their food absolutely tastes like the one you would eat in a restaurant in Hyderabad. I can’t emphasize enough on how good the food was. The Chutneys were on point and tasted absolutely delectable. The rasam was good too, but the sambar tasted better. The brinjal fry was perfect and tasted yum! The sambar was so tasty I just had an entire bowl by itself. The upma tasted as if it was made at home, the idli was so soft my son gobbled it down asking for more (which he never does), the mirchi bajji was just the right amount of spicy, and the vadas weren’t oily at all and were perfect. ![]() They had so many options that I was fill from just the appetizers. They had 5 different appetizers - idli, upma, vada, mirchi bhaji and puri chole. The ambiance was not pleasing, but the food was palate pleasing. So, when we arrived I wasn’t expecting much as the location didn’t look very good. We got hungry fast so we decided to hit Priyaa Restaurant which was a little further away then we wanted. So we had a light breakfast at Starbucks and then proceeded to see the Cathedral Basilica of St Louis. Serra's is worth a try, but if you aren't in the mood to wait, you might want to go during the week.įinding breakfast without sugar in US is extremely hard. The pasta was simple but my daughter said it was great. It was big rice ball vs several small ones. The pizza was delicious, I enjoyed the salad and the arancini was also good, albeit a little different than I expected. FYI the pizza is St Louis style with Provel cheese and square cut. Sounds strange, but I love canned mushrooms! It took every bit of that quoted hour to get the pizza, but it was so good, it was worth the wait. The bonus was that the mushrooms canned, not fresh. No green peppers here, so I thought I would give it a try. I don't normally order a supreme pizza as most have green peppers and I'm not a big fan. It had sausage, pepperoni, bacon, onion and mushroom. As for pizza we ordered the Serra's Pizza Supreme. We got a house salad, the arancini and Manicotti to help us make it past that hour wait for the pizza. We didn't have any pressing affairs, so we chose to wait it out. When we were seated, we were told that pizza was taking at least 1 hour to be ready. We didn't have but moment to wait for a table, even though they were quite busy. Keep trying! We will come back with a smaller party.ĭinner on a Saturday evening around 6pm. I’m giving it 4 stars because I know they have potential and the manager was reasonable. It would be a shame if this place lost customers due to poor service, it I believe if they solve the staffing and service/training of staff issues, they could make it. You’re only as good as your service, which is what customers look for first, as high of a priority as the food and drinks. My suggestion would be the aforementioned limited seating. They need to stay on that kitchen, though. The GM did the right thing in handling our lack of service, and we might give it another try once they hire more staff. Our poor waitress was young and inexperienced, but she probably did the best she could. He did comp us the meals and drinks we did get, and I know it’s hard being short staffed like everywhere else, but they should limit seating to those they can accommodate without overwhelming the kitchen staff. Nice atmosphere, good Manhattans downstairs, but when our large party got our food 2 hours later, and 3 of us didn’t get any of our orders, we asked the manager for help.
